Nancy N. Haviland, age 77 of Brighton, passed away at her home Tuesday, January 1, 2013. She was born June 28, 1935 in Marion Township, the daughter of William “Buzz” and Lucy Fern (Wellman) Newberry. Beloved wife of Dale Haviland whom she married April 16, 1955 in Howell; dear mother of Dauna (Jeffrey) Borchardt and Pamela (David Norkus) Haviland; grandmother of Ariel and Nicholas. Nancy served as Livingston County Register of Deeds for 28 years, was a member and past president of the Michigan Association of Register of Deeds; former cosmetologist, member of the Brighton Rotary Club and Republican Women’s Club of Livingston County. She especially enjoyed basket weaving, gourmet cooking and gardening. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-6 p.m. with memorial services Sunday, January 6 at 1:30 p.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800).
