Kenneth C. Reed, age 84 of Howell, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012. Born in Detroit on March 30, 1928, he was the son of Charles H. and Marguerite M. (Thibault) Reed. A Howell resident since 1968, Ken was a U.S. Army veteran and retired quality control engineer for Ford Motor Company. He was an accomplished jazz musician and alto saxophone player, pianist and orchestra composer. His many talents also included; inventor, astronomer, rock collector, professional photographer and amateur film maker. Ken was a wonderful and devoted husband to his late wife Virginia who preceded him in death on September 30, 1992. He is survived by his children, Mark Elm, David Reed, Jetta (Rick Wilkins) Reed, Ann (Tony) Astorino and grandson, Vincent Bailey. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 8 p.m. with funeral services Monday, 11:00 a.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
